     On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector. Name it Synthesys, paste the URL and click Continue.

     Sign in with your Synthesys account. In a chat, turn Synthesys on from + → Connectors.

  Every plan can add it. Free allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds Synthesys first in Organization settings → Connectors, then each member clicks Connect.

     On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Apps → Advanced and turn on Developer mode. Some accounts show Plugins instead of Apps.

     Create a custom MCP app named Synthesys with the URL below. If it asks how to sign in, choose OAuth.

     Sign in with your Synthesys account, then add Synthesys to a new chat. ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions before they run.

  Needs a ChatGPT plan that supports custom MCP apps in developer mode. Full use, which making videos needs, is in beta for Business, Enterprise and Edu, where a workspace admin or owner turns it on and publishes the app. Not available in the ChatGPT mobile apps.

  Apps that only run local MCP servers can't connect.

Synthesys works with any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in. Each app sets its own plan rules and menus, and they change often. If your screens look different, check that app's help page, or follow the setup guide in the Synthesys app.

What your assistant sees.

Here is what a connected assistant can see, and what stays with Synthesys.

• Only what you ask for

  Your assistant gets what you ask it to fetch or create: your credit balance and usage, project details and scripts, the names of your actors, voices and Brand Kits, and links to your files and finished videos.

• Their privacy policy applies

  Whatever your assistant receives goes to the company that runs it, and their privacy policy covers it from there.

• Never your face

  Your digital twins are listed by name only. No picture or clip of your face is ever sent to the assistant.

• Links open for anyone who has them

  Links to your files and videos currently work for anyone who has the link. If your files are confidential, avoid sharing those conversations.

• No passwords, keys stored as a hash

  You sign in through our sign-in provider, so Synthesys gets an access token and never your password. API keys are stored only as a hash and shown to you once.

• Every action is logged

  We record each action taken through an assistant or an API key: which tool, when, the result and the account.

If something isn't working.

• Sign-in fails, or no Synthesys tools appear

  Check that your app allows custom MCP servers on your plan. Claude Free allows one custom connector, and on Claude Team and Enterprise an Owner adds Synthesys first. ChatGPT needs developer mode on a supported plan, on the web. Then turn the connector on in your chat. In Claude Code, run /mcp to sign in.

• Daily limit for connected apps reached

  Connected apps and API keys can spend up to 5,000 credits a day, and the limit resets at 00:00 UTC. The Synthesys web app is never blocked, so you can finish there or wait for the reset.

• Out of credits

  Your assistant tells you when your balance won't cover the next step, before anything is charged. Add credits in the Synthesys app with a plan or a credit pack, then ask it to confirm again.

• A video is taking a while

  Clips usually take 8 to 13 minutes and full productions usually 10 to 25. Ask your assistant to check the status. Every video also shows up in Projects in the Synthesys app.

• The upload link expired

  Upload links work for 30 minutes and take up to 10 files. Ask your assistant for a new one. The upload page shows which Synthesys account the files go to.
